Have you been meaning to get back to church after a long time away? Or did you recently move to the area and want to start visiting the various churches in Temecula? Or maybe you’re someone who has never been to a Christian church, but wanted to see what it’s like. You might be wondering if Christmas time is a good time to start visiting churches.
First of all, we want to say that anytime is a good time to visit a church! You shouldn’t wait for the “right” time or the “perfect” time because that day may never come. There will always be distractions, schedule conflicts, or naysayers that try to keep you from attending a church service. That being said, you need to be aware that Christmas time is a little different than the rest of the year at most Christian churches.
Many churches in Temecula spend the entire month of December focusing on the birth of Jesus. They might have what’s called an “Advent series” of messages during December, or themed messages surrounding the Christmas story from the Bible. Their services will often feature Christmas carols, and you’ll see Christmas decorations throughout the church building. They may have Christmas events scattered throughout December, and almost all churches in Temecula will have a special Christmas Eve service (even if Christmas Eve doesn’t fall on a Sunday).
If you’re someone who loves all things Christmas, December would be a great time to visit some churches in Temecula!
You need to be aware, however, that come January, things will look a little different. The songs sung during the church service will change. The types of messages preached on Sundays will be centered on other passages from the Bible. And the Christmas decorations will come down. However, in many churches, January means the start of new programs, Bible studies, fellowship groups, etc. with which you can get involved.
Here’s our recommendation: start attending churches in Temecula in December. Visit as many as you can. Focus on finding one that preaches the truth of the Bible, and whose people make you feel welcome. Do some digging to find out what types of groups and programs each of the churches offer to see if there is an obvious place for you to connect. Maybe you’re looking to join a Bible study specifically for men or women, or for a certain type of support group, or for a youth group that your kids can join. Different churches in Temecula offer different ways for their attendees to connect with one another, as well as different ways of supporting their members.
If you’re feeling a “pull” back to church, don’t push it to the side just because it’s Christmas time! December is as good a time as any to start trying out churches in Temecula!
